Javad Daraei wins award for ‘Limit’

Iranian short film ‘Limit’ has won Best Director award at the 2019 edition of the Global Short Film Awards.

The film event that is held in Cannes, France and New York, the US has dedicated its Best Director award to Javad Daraei for his seven-minute short ‘Limit’.

The film recounts the story of a man in a quiet neighborhood who asks the people around to help him when all of a sudden somebody goes into his home.

Daraei adopts a spiritual viewpoint in his movies; it is a narrative that aims at challenging the status quo regarding the rights of the disabled.

His film ‘Limit’ depicts the trials and tribulations of handicapped people in their daily lives; issues that annoy them giving all the snap judgment around.

The film has so far attended several international film events, including the 16th Ischia Film Festival in Italy and 9th International Entr'2 Marches Film Festival in France.

Established in 2015, the Global Short Film Awards accepts short films less than 15 minutes long. The accepted films are of various genres made by both amateur and professional filmmakers.
